Gray Ghost Inn Welcomes Summer Visitors Starting May 28

The Gray Ghost Inn continues to safely host guests here in Southern Vermont.  Summer travel season begins May 28, 2021.  Vaccinated people are not required to wear a mask in Vermont.  However, it’s a good idea to bring a mask with you as some establishments such as shops and restaurants still require them. Things are looking up, travel-wise.  As the weather warms and summer travel season begins to beckon, you can’t do better than the Gray Ghost Inn for a safe, relaxing spot to base your Vermont adventures.

Kick Off Winter At The Gray Ghost Inn

Three Skiers

Look no further than the Gray Ghost Inn for comfortable lodging close to Mount Snow Ski Resort. Here in Southern Vermont, a lot of people noted this week as the start of winter weather. The Gray Ghost Inn saw its first measurable snow Tuesday, and they’re making snow at Mount Snow. And you know what that means — ski and snow board season is just about here.

Stay with us Thanksgiving Weekend and you can participate in the first of Mount Snow’s early winter festivities — Winter Wonderland is November 24, with a torchlight parade, fireworks, and even a visit from Santa.

Late Fall Fun in Deerfield Valley

Gilfeather Turnip Fest

Foliage season is still underway here in Southern Vermont, and what better way to celebrate than with the weird but fun Gilfeather Turnip Festival in nearby Wardsboro, VT.  The festival honors the unusually large and lumpy looking Gilfeather Turnip, a local delicacy that’s surprisingly delicious.  Even if you don’t like turnips (and you might like these) you’re bound to enjoy the local color and homespun charm of this agricultural tradition, now in it’s 16th year! Stay at the Gray Ghost Inn, your hub for autumn leaf peeping, early Christmas shopping, and yes, Gilfeather Turnip tasting (although you’ll have to go to the festival to get your fill).

Enjoy Spring in Vermont at the Gray Ghost Inn

Gray Ghost Inn flowers

Great news — Mud Season is past and it’s now officially Spring in Vermont from south to north. Visit us now in Southern Vermont, where the trees are flowering, the bulbs are in bloom, and our state color — green — is returning to the landscape. Better still, the weather is warming up again and we’re seeing temps as high as the 70s.

Have we talked you into it yet? If you haven’t spent time in Vermont in the springtime, you owe yourself the treat. Nothing could be more lovely, whether your passion is hiking (in our verdant woods), riding (on our picturesque country roads), or just taking a lazy drive to a nearby town or watering hole.
